53 days and counting...

She's almost here! We're already under 2 months to go and it's going to get here faster than I think we realize. My most up to date belly photo is there on the left. 31.5 weeks, taken last night. We have a doc appt this morning at 10am, the most inconvenient time and day for my work schedule but they couldn't do anything else because of Good Friday. Eh, I'll take the morning off to hear bebe's heartbeat and get measured :) Charlee has been moving around like crazy but I don't think she's flipped yet. Everyone tells me that I'll KNOW when she does. It seems like she's trying to figure it out though, kicking and elbowing my all down my sides. She gets crazy active at night, it makes my whole body move.

We are going to be so busy every weekend before she gets here.
April 1-2: RJ paints the mural in the nursery (I will post pic updates)
April 3: Easter
April 7-11: Jana is in town with her crew, my BIRTHDAY!
April 17: Granny's baby shower
April 24: Sam's friend baby shower
May 1: Derby festivities
May 8: Sam's graduation/party
May 15: Family time at Granny's (celebrate bdays)
May 22: Charlee is due this weekend!

I'm hoping we can find a weekend in there to just be by ourselves before she comes. It might have to be the weekend she's due, but I want it to be sooner so I won't be huge and uncomfortable. We'll have to see. It seems like forever away, but with all the stuff we still have to do, I know it will be here so fast. I really wish we could take a mini vacation and get away for a bit, but I don't see that happening :(

Breeched baby...

Little foot.

Little hand.

Just had our 30 week appt with an ultrasound to check on baby's growth and etc. Everything is going right on schedule, she's actually a week or so ahead of schedule but they aren't changing the due date. Charlee is laying the complete opposite way of how they want her. She should be head down, facing towards my back and this little lady is head up, facing out like I'm carrying her right in front of me. The nurse said that's why my belly is measuring small bc weighs the right amount and etc but she is laying right under my ribs. (I knew that already...ouch) We got a couple pictures printed out but she wasn't really cooperating with the technician. She did give us this scary face picture. Skull picture really...

It was cool seeing her wiggle around, she's over twice as big as she was during our 17wk ultrasound. She was kicking and playing with her hands the whole time.

The doctor said they would check her position again closer to the due date and most likely schedule a C Section if she hasn't flipped. I wasn't really happy to hear that, but I'll go with whatever is best for baby and I. It's kind of scary but it'll be ok.

Next appointment is 3/31, two weeks from now. :)

Blogging at 5am...great

I do not get up this early. Riley usually determines when I get up and it's mostly around 7-8. He hasn't slept since 3 this morning....he's up and moving around. He won't lay down in one place for more than 10 seconds. He slept for about an hour, in bed with us while I was petting him, then got up and left. He acts like something scares him, running from room to room. I don't know...it's freaking me out.

I'm more on edge with it because I found out today that two of his siblings died last week. The family says they were poisoned. I cried, right there in session. Call it my hormones, call it my dog lover side, I don't care but it was so sad. So now I'm all worried that something is wrong with Riley. Roxy is acting fine, she's looking at him like "lay down man, chill out".

In other, happier news..we're at 29 weeks! I can't wait until Friday, our last ultrasound. She's grown more than twice the size she was at our first ultrasound so this one should be more eventful I think...if she isn't sleeping. I'm very excited.

Work is getting harder for me, mainly because I don't stay in one spot for more than 3 hours. I'm up moving around, getting kids from classrooms, driving round and round. It's getting to be exhausting. During pregnancy I wouldn't mind a desk job, sure I'd have to get up and walk every now and again but not ALL day. I'm hoping to be able to whittle down my caseload by the beginning of May so I'm not doing so much. It would be me that has her water break in a session with a kid, traumatizing the kid and herself for life.

I'm definitely feeling much more "pregnant" now, with the belly and all. It's harder to roll over in bed (which I have to do every hour), harder to get up from sitting, just harder to mobilize. Still two months to go, so I know it'll only get worse from here on out. :)

I'm attempting to go back to sleep. Riley is still up pacing. :(

26 week appointment

We had our 26 week OB appointment this morning. The same old routine stuff...measuring the bump, listening to the heartbeat, pee in a cup, etc. I'm measuring right at 26 weeks and Charlee's heartbeat is strong and steady like always. I love hearing the heartbeat, I can't wait until I can use my at home monitor thing. Even though I feel her move around, hearing the heartbeat makes things seem more real...knowing that our little one is healthy and already working on her own is very cool.

I go back in 2 weeks for the glucose test. I think everything should be fine with that, I'm eating healthily (when we can afford it). I would eat veggies and fruit everyday but that can get expensive. My diet is pretty good, not all chocolate or anything haha.

We still have about 14 weeks, a little over 3 months to go but I am getting so anxious to meet her. I just know she'll have her own personality- hopefully all the good parts of mama and daddy's mixed together. :)

We've had about 6 snow days in the past two weeks, which means I've been out of work with nothing to do. Got lots of movies watched, but wasn't productive at all. This next week should have less or no snow, so I can get back into a groove with work and that will be much appreciated.

Kyle is considering a new job endeavor that could be very exciting. It could even lead to us moving somewhere warmer eventually and all this snow is making that seem very appealing. It will let Kyle travel all over the world and get out of the job he is bored with now. It's still under consideration, lots to think about but pretty exciting at the same time.

25 weeks. Lots of snow and nowhere to go.

Whelp, that's the belly. I love thinking about how Charlee is growing (about 8 inches and 2 pounds now) but the belly/legs/arms/face that has come along with it has me bent out of shape. I didn't have the perfect bikini body before but I was certainly on the right track with exercising and losing weight. I'm trying really hard to stay active. Treadmill a couple times a week, shoveling snow, carrying laundry up and down the stairs. I can only hope that this will make post-baby workouts a little easier.I'm not meaning to sound selfish but my body issues are more and more on my mind lately.

Everything is on my mind lately. Pregnancy hormones, you are killing me slowly. Anything can set me off during the day: a song, the snow, forgetting my water w/ lemon juice, not seeing Kyle because of work...the tears start flowing. I try my best to look on the bright side of things, I have a healthy baby and a loving husband and family. The big picture is great and I know that but the little things become big things when you're hormonal.

I just need to keep my head on straight and keep looking forward to what is ahead. Charlee will be here in 15 weeks and our lives will be complete.

I am married to my best friend.
We live in a house we've made our own.
We make it to the end of the month no matter what.
There are two precious puppies that greet us every morning with kisses.
Families that surround us couldn't be more supportive and loving.
A disney vacation is in the works :)

Those are the things that matter the most. I am the luckiest.

23 weeks

I don't have any new pictures uploaded to the computer so I thought I'd share one of Riley as a teeny pupster. That is a pic of him the weekend I brought him home, he was 7 pounds. Now he is 40 pounds and is bigger than Roxy. His size is misleading cause he's still a young, young pup of four months. We're gonna have a beast on our hands.

I am right at 23 weeks today. :) We had a doctor's appointment last Friday where they measured my belly and listened to her heartbeat. Belly is as big as it should be and the heartbeat was at 160, which is where it's been every time they've checked it since 6 weeks. Everything seems to be on track, I'm getting anxious to meet her. Her kicks are getting stronger, Kyle felt her kick last week and that was pretty cool. I lay in bed for a few minutes every morning and see how the belly is getting bigger and get a few quiet moments in with her...until the dogs see that I'm awake and demand to be taken out and fed. That's when the day begins, haha.

I need to be more consistent with posting, by the time I get home from work I'm ready to hop in bed. I'll try to get an update in more often, and upload my new pics.

Hello twenty-ten!

A house divided :) UK was victorious over U of L this weekend so that made me happy. We have a friendly feud I guess you would say. I've already decided that Charlee will be a UK fanatic like her mama and there's no swaying that decision.

I felt little kicks from Charlee this weekend which was very exciting. I can't wait to have them be stronger and more consistent. It makes me smile when I get the little flutter. I'll need to look back on this post in 3 months when she's kicking the crap out of me and cherish it. Keeping with the baby topic, I'm feeling more and more huge everyday. Even when I don't feel her moving about, I still feel "it" in that whole section of my body. I don't think I'm looking very pregnant...just look like I've put on 20 pounds when it's actually only been 3. Oh well, guess I'll have a big bump soon enough.

Kyle and I are both back to work from the holidays. I never took any days off but all my clients were out of school so it was all boring office work. I'm glad to be back, things are going to get busy in the next couple of weeks and it'll make the time pass by quicker. I wanted to take time off and have a real vacation but I'm saving for Charlee's arrival. I'll get a 6-8 week "vacation" soon enough.

Sam and Tyler stayed with us this weekend, which is always fun. It's hard going from living with your best friends to being 80 miles away but we try to make the best of it. Roxy and Riley were definitely happy to see Scooter as evidenced by the dog hair that was covering everything from them marathoning up and down the stairs. It's all worth it in the end.

In general, I'm optimistic about this year. More experience in my field of work, trying our hand at gardening in the back yard and a little baby girl await us. My New Year's resolution(s) is to laugh everyday and run another 5k with Kyle. I'm not sure if he's decided what his resolution will be...we'll have to wait and see.
